What is the Downtime of the All-Teeth-On-4 Procedure?

Hi, Dr. Anand here from Warragul Dental Care.

Are you missing multiple teeth and considering a full-arch restoration? Considering it’s a complex restorative procedure, it is natural to wonder about the downtime after getting All-Teeth-On-4 implants.

Well, one good news is you won’t be without teeth for long!

So here’s how it works:
Your surgery is done in the morning, and by the next day, you’ll have a set of temporary teeth fitted. These are designed to let you smile, talk, and eat soft foods while your implants heal.

You’ll wear these temporary teeth for 3 months to a year, depending on your body’s healing capacity, before we create your final, permanent set.

Now, let’s talk about recovery. Since it’s a major surgical procedure, you can expect some soreness and swelling. There might be bruising, but we’ll give you plenty of pain relief to keep you comfortable.

For the first 8 weeks, you’ll need to be on a soft food diet while your implants heal. After that, you can start introducing firmer foods. Once your final teeth are fitted, you’ll be able to eat anything you like, steak, apples, you name it!

So, downtime? In short, 24 hours without teeth, then a few months of healing before your permanent smile is ready. So, if you’re considering All-Teeth-On-4, let’s chat. Simply call 03 8899 6937 or DM us to organise your consultation!
