Nervous Patients Warragul, Gippsland
If you’ve been putting off dental treatment because of a fear of visiting the Dentist, then it’s time to give the team at Warragul Dental Care a call. Here are some of the ways we help you relax
Our Specially Trained Team
Dr Anand has undertaken special training in treating nervous patients, so he knows how to create a stress-free environment to make you feel relaxed.
Dr Anand and the Dental team explain everything in plain English, so you’ll understand everything that’s going to happen. We avoid Dental techy talk.
All our Dentists work alongside a fantastic team of dental assistants who are always on hand to give an encouraging pat and a comforting smile throughout your treatment.

Dogtor Bruce, Our Therapy Dog
If you’re nervous about treatment and need a helping paw, then the lovable Dogtor Bruce is here to help. Bruce is our dental therapy dog and has undertaken rigorous training to be a fully certified member of the WDC team.
Bruce’s presence has an incredible effect on our patients of all ages, so if you think he can help in any way don’t hesitate to ask for him to be at your appointment. There’s no fee for Dogtor Bruce but he’s not in the office every day so we just need to know in advance.
You can read more about Dogtor Bruce or head to the blog about him.
Call the team on (03) 5623 5588 if you have any questions and to book Dogtor Bruce for your or your child’s appointment.

Netflix, Headphones + Snuggly Blankets
All our treatment rooms have a TV with full access to Netflix, so you can choose your favourite show or documentary to help you drift away. We also have headphones so you can listen to Spotify, a podcast, a bit of Dolly Parton while gently squeezing your squidgy ball.
And finally, we’ll offer you one of our warm, snuggly blankets and neck pillow to make you feel warm and comfortable.
If there’s anything else that will help you relax, just let us know. We’re happy to work with whatever helps you.

Happy Gas
At Warragul Dental Care we offer nitrous oxide also known as ‘happy gas’ to help you relax.
This is a great solution to help you calm during your treatment. We administer the treatment by popping a mask over your nose and asking you to breathe. It’s as simple as that.
After a few minutes you’ll start to feel the calming effects. During the treatment you might feel light-headed, euphoric, sleepy and have a sensation of floating. These are all normal side effects and will completely disappear once the gas is removed.
Shortly after treatment you’ll be able to leave your appointment and resume life as normal, including driving, going back to work and looking after the kids.
We’ve got a great little blog about happy gas here if you’d like to know more.

General Anaesthetic in Our Clinic
General anaesthetic is a great option if you’re feeling nervous or need a lengthy dental procedure, such as dental implants or your wisdom teeth removed. The first thing we’ll do is check that you’re able to have a general anaesthetic as not everyone will be suitable. Your health is always our number one priority.
The general anaesthetic is performed right here in our friendly clinic with a team of highly skilled Anaesthetists. You’ll be sedated for the duration of your treatment and wake after it’s all finished. Easy! Our team will explain it all in more detail during your assessment and answer any questions you might have.

We Take It At Your Pace
There’s never a rush. We’ll take everything at a pace that you’re comfortable with and won’t start any treatment until you’re relaxed and ready for it. In fact, the first thing we’ll do is just talk.
We’ll introduce you to the team and our therapy dog, Dogtor Bruce, and make sure you’re comfortable in your surroundings before we start talking about treatment.
We might find some cues to help you relax such as music, a movie or something you can bring in with you. We’re happy to work with anything that will help make your visit stress-free.

The Warmest Welcome And Relaxing Patient Lounge
We know sitting in the Dentist can sometimes make the nerves a little worse, that’s why you’ll discover our patient lounge is as welcoming as possible.
Our wonderful front-of-house team puts you at ease the minute you enter the door with a warm, welcoming smile. They’ll greet you and show you where to relax. We can have a chat about your day or leave you to browse through the magazines in peace, whatever you prefer.
Our patient lounge has all our favourite travel photos from around the world and we’ve created a great kids’ corner to keep the little ones busy.
We’ll pop the kettle on for a tea or coffee before your appointment and you’re welcome to use our private bathroom before your treatment starts.
