Dental General Anaesthetics Warragul, Gippsland
Wave Goodbye to Your Worries With General Anaesthetic
Are feelings of anxiety stopping you from booking a trip to the dentist?
We’re one of the few clinics in the Warragul and Gippsland area to offer in-clinic general anaesthetic, so you can gently fall asleep while we care for your teeth. You won’t even know treatment is taking place and before you know it, it’ll be time to wake up and your treatment will be complete.
Understanding general anaesthesia
General anaesthetic at Warragul Dental Care is the same as in the hospital. The big bonus is that you’ll be in our warm, friendly clinic surrounded by friendly faces and our cosy comforts.
When you go ahead with a general anaesthetic, we’ve got a brilliant anaesthetic team that travels from Melbourne to care for you. The standards and monitoring systems are all exactly the same as in a hospital and our team will be beside you the entire time to make sure you’re comfortable and safe.
Overcome Anxiety to Get the Care You Need
If any of the following has been stopping you from coming in for dental care, then general anaesthetic could be the answer:
- Panic from the sound or vibration of drills
- Fear of the pinch from numbing injections
- Gag reflexes triggered by tooth or gum cleanings
- The idea of a tooth extraction feels too traumatic
- Recovery worries about pain and downtime after complex procedures
General anaesthesia can help you overcome your fear of visiting the dentist and finally help you get the dental care you need. While you gently sleep, our experienced team can carry out fillings, extractions, implants, and cleanings in one appointment. You’ll wake up in our comfortable clinic with no memory of the treatment taking place.

Our Step-By-Step General Anaesthesia Process
Preparation → Sedation → Procedure → Recovery → Discharge
Pre-Procedure:
- Arrive in our comfortable surgery set up for five-star comfort
- Our therapy dog, Bruce, may stop by for gentle pets and cuddles to ease nerves
- We review your medical history and dental plan while you relax with blankets and eye masks
- We apply a numbing cream so you won’t feel any discomfort when going to sleep
We’ll make sure you feel calm and comfortable before we start any procedures. Our therapy dogs, Dogtor Bruce or Dogtor Dave, can be by your side leading up to sedation and treatment to magic away any nerves.
General Anaesthetic:
- We inject the general anaesthetic through your arm to slowly send you into a deep sleep
- As you drift off, your breathing, blood pressure and heart rate are closely monitored by our expert anaesthetist and dental nurse team
- We make sure you stay fully asleep throughout the whole procedure
Dental Procedure:
- Once you’re completely asleep, we’ll carry out the planned dental treatment
- You won’t feel anything during the treatment
- We’ll keep a close eye on you the entire time, with a specialist anaesthetic nurse by your side
Recovery:
- As we finish the procedure, your anaesthetic will wear off naturally over 30-60 minutes
- You’ll slowly awaken in our recovery room
- Our team will continue to check your vital signs and overall wellness
Discharge:
- As soon as you’re awake and able to drink fluids, you can get ready to go home
- We’ll provide instructions on eating, medications and follow-up care
- You’ll need someone to drive you home and have a good rest for a few hours
