Right, so you’ve got a dental emergency and you’re frantically Googling “where can I get emergency dental care in Warragul?” at some ridiculous hour. We’ve got you.
Warragul Dental Care is right here on Victoria Street, and we keep same-day appointments available for exactly this situation. Call us on
(03) 8899 6937 and we’ll get you sorted as quickly as possible. No judgement, no drama, just help when you need it most.
Our team has been looking after Warragul and Gippsland families for over 40 years (yep, your mum might’ve been a patient here!). Dr Anand, our principal dentist, has seen just about every dental emergency you can imagine. From knocked-out teeth at Saturday footy to 3am toothaches that won’t quit, we’ve handled it all.
So What Actually Counts as a Dental Emergency?
Not every dental issue needs you racing to the dentist in a panic. But some definitely do. Here’s how to tell the difference.
Get yourself to us ASAP if you’ve got:
- Severe, throbbing tooth pain that paracetamol or ibuprofen won’t touch
- A knocked-out adult tooth (time is super critical here, more on that in a sec)
- A broken or cracked tooth, especially if it’s painful or has sharp edges cutting your mouth
- Swelling in your face, jaw, or gums
Head to hospital emergency if: You’ve got swelling that’s affecting your breathing or swallowing. That’s a medical emergency, not just a dental one.
Why Having a Local Emergency Dentist Matters
When you’re in pain, the last thing you want is a two-hour drive to Melbourne. No thanks.
We’re at 49 Victoria Street with plenty of parking on the street and in the big car park across the road (near Harvey Norman and Woolies). Easy to find, easy to get to. Which matters when you’re dealing with a dental crisis and can barely think straight.
Our practice has nine surgeries and all the gear to handle complex cases that might otherwise mean a trip to the city. Emergency extractions, treating infections, managing pain, we can do it all right here in Warragul.
What Happens When You Call Us
When you ring with a dental emergency, our reception team will ask a few quick questions so we can prioritise you properly.
We’ll want to know: What happened? How long have you been in pain? Any swelling?
If you’ve knocked out a tooth (eep!), we’ll give you instructions on how to store it until you get here. Time is critical with knocked-out teeth, so try to get to us within 30 minutes if you can. Pop the tooth in milk if you’ve got it, or tuck it inside your cheek. Sounds weird, but it works!
Once you’re here, we’ll assess everything and talk through your options. For most emergencies, we can sort you out the same day.
Nervous About Emergency Treatment? We’ve Got You
Dental emergencies are stressful enough without worrying about anxiety during treatment. We totally get it.
Happy gas (nitrous oxide) is available for adults 18+ who need help relaxing. And then there’s Dogtor Bruce, our therapy dog, who’s happy to sit with you and offer some furry moral support. Yep, an actual therapy dog. At the dentist. Revolutionary, we know.
We’ve also got Netflix, noise-cancelling headphones, and cosy blankets. Basically, we’ve thought of everything to make this as un-terrible as possible.
For patients who need more support, we have in-house general anaesthesia facilities, so you can sleep through the whole thing if needed.
