For Dr Amy Zhang, dentistry is the perfect combination of science, problem solving and arts and crafts. She also loves being able to turn something people often dread into a much more positive experience.
Amy graduated from La Trobe University in 2017 and has worked in private practices across regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, as well as metropolitan Melbourne. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with interests in restorative dentistry, periodontics, crowns and onlays. Amy regularly undertakes further professional development, particularly in anterior aesthetics, and is also a certified Invisalign provider.
Patients are at the heart of Amy’s approach. She takes the time to explain what she can see, show patients what’s happening and talk through their options without pressure. Amy believes in treating every patient as she would want herself or her family to be treated. She’s also rather particular about her work (a blessing and a curse!), making sure everything is done properly and designed to last.
Her biggest piece of dental advice? Don’t wait until something hurts! Problems are usually much easier to manage when they’re caught early.
Outside work, Amy loves travelling, shopping, spending time with friends and discovering new places to eat. You’ll often find her sampling a café’s specialty coffee or heading out for a hike, preferably followed by a well-earned meal! She’s also a devoted dog person and shares a star sign and a never-ending appetite with her family Labrador, Apple. They’re Leo twins!
Amy is fluent in Mandarin and is delighted to help Mandarin-speaking patients feel comfortable discussing and understanding their dental care.
